Moersleutel Craft Brewery 2024
For Moersleutel Craft Brewery, the challenge was to design a custom beer glass that brought their core identity — Beer Engineers — to life. The focus was on incorporating and highlighting their logo, while also creating a practical and bar-friendly design.Moersleutel wanted to introduce a vaasje-style glass: stackable, easy to handle, and perfect for sessionable drinking. The result is a functional yet characterful glass that balances branding with everyday usability — engineered for beer, just like their brews.

Hopster Craft Beer Magazine 2024
We were excited to be invited by Hopster Craft Beer Magazine to contribute to a special feature in their Summer 2024 edition. As part of this special, an interview was conducted and the cover would be uniquely designed by an in-house graphic designer from the featured brewery.Since I have the pleasure of working as a graphic designer for Moersleutel Craft Brewery, the honor of creating the cover illustration was mine. While previous contributors mainly worked digitally, I wanted to take a different approach and bring something tactile and playful to life. Using chalk as my medium, I crafted a hand-drawn illustration celebrating our flagship beer — while also playfully imagining a future version of our workshop, complete with mechanical arms and creative machinery. We’re proud to share this unique visual story as part of Hopster’s special edition!

Moersleutel Craft Brewery 2022
Could you pass me the... tools IPA beer series. This beer label series was created to reflect the character and craftsmanship of unique brews. Each label is hand-designed using the linoprint technique, giving it a bold, raw, and tactile quality. The prints are finished with chalk colors to add a playful contrast and a vibrant touch. The combination of rough textures and soft color highlights the analogue spirit behind both the brewing and the design — a celebration of the handmade and the imperfect.

Funk Gilde 2017- present.
Funk Gilde is a bold food concept that puts a creative twist on traditional Dutch deep-fried snacks by adding a funky, fermented edge. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting them with graphic work from day one — starting with their logo design.Over the years, our collaboration has grown into a full visual partnership. From flyers, posters, and social media content to promotional banners, branded merchandise, hospitality materials, food truck graphics, and even cargo bike wraps — I’ve helped shape and expand their visual identity across the board.Whatever was needed to make the brand stand out in the streets and on the plate, we made it happen.

Moersleutel Craft Brewery 2024
I had the pleasure of designing the new Advent Special beer can series for Moersleutel Brewery. What made this project especially exciting was the creative freedom I was given to develop the concept, visual style, and color palette. The Advent period marks the countdown to Christmas, and Moersleutel celebrates this time by releasing a selection of 9 exclusive beers. I felt a Yule theme was fitting—symbolizing togetherness and celebration with cool outfits. To capture this feeling, I used a monoprint technique, aiming for a bold and rugged design. I wanted to create a look that held hidden details and hints of light—like discovering moments of warmth in the dark.

Myself 2023 - present
For my own promotional materials, I created a series of custom-shaped stickers. I wanted to design something easy to give away — a piece that not only reflects my linocut illustration style but also functions as a business card.Unlike a standard cardboard card, stickers offer a bit more personality and versatility. They're fun, functional, and help my work stick around — literally.

Oripeau 2017- 2025.
Oripeau is an organization that operates a series of public showrooms in various locations around the world. After establishing contact with them, I had the opportunity to present my work through their platform. Oripeau independently selected, printed, and exhibited my work in their public spaces—first in Montréal, Canada, and later in Nantes, France.Projects like these are the perfect opportunity for me to further develop my illustration style and to experiment creatively. Being exhibited in such open and diverse contexts encourages me to push boundaries and explore new visual directions.

Moersleutel Craft Brewery 2023
For this project, Moersleutel Craft Brewery invited me to design a beer label for their Autumn Special. The theme and subject were already defined, but I had full creative freedom in terms of composition, color palette, and illustration style. To capture the seasonal feeling, I chose to work with linocut—a technique that brings a raw, textured aesthetic which, to me, perfectly reflects the atmosphere of autumn. Combined with a warm autumnal color scheme, the result is a cohesive and expressive label that visually reinforces the mood of the season.

Noord-Hollands Dagblad 2024
This illustration was originally commissioned as a cover for an investigative story in Noordhollands Dagblad. As the piece gained attention and the impact of the writer’s work grew, the item expanded in prominence — and so did the role of the visual storytelling. The article explored the increasing demand for electricity in the Netherlands and how the new infrastructure required to transport it will pass through densely populated neighborhoods. My illustration aimed to deepen the emotional tone of the story, highlighting the frustration and helplessness of residents affected by the endless buzzing of high-voltage lines. Despite formal agreements being made, many locals felt unheard and misled — caught in a situation they never truly agreed to.The artwork reinforces this atmosphere of unease and powerlessness, helping to visually communicate the core message of the report.

Grafisch Atelier Alkmaar 2025
To mark the 50th anniversary of Grafisch Atelier Alkmaar, I was invited—alongside 49 other designers affiliated with the workshop—to create and submit a print for a group exhibition held in the beautiful and historic Grote Kerk (Great Church) of Alkmaar. The theme was open, giving each artist the freedom to create something personal, with only two guidelines: the print had to be 50 x 50 cm in size, and each work would be sold for €50.The church provided a stunning backdrop for the exhibition, filled with a wide range of inspiring works. I contributed an edition of two prints—and I’m proud to say both were sold during the show. A wonderful event in a truly iconic location!

Let’s create something worthy for legends.— Barry Timmer

Barry Timmer (b. 1993) is a multidisciplinary graphic designer, illustrator, and printmaker, best known for his bold linocuts and vibrant visual style. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences—including (dark) fantasy, nature, folklore, mythological language, and the vivid color palettes of 1980s comics—his work blends raw craftsmanship with a rich narrative world.Barry’s artistic voice is shaped by the tactile energy of handmade processes and unrefined materials. He primarily works with linocut, chalk, and monoprint, mediums that embrace imperfection and chance—an intentional contrast to the polished, predictable aesthetics of today’s digital age. His work explores rawness in a society increasingly obsessed with smoothness and simplification. While he works primarily in-house for Moersleutel Craft Brewery, Barry also collaborates with a variety of clients including: Jumbo Monique Supermarkt, Funk Gilde, Noordhollands Dagblad, Kunstuitleen Alkmaar, Filmhuis Alkmaar, Beef Chief, Oedipus Brewing, Hopster Magazine, and various local startups.Education:
